A few recent cakes . . .
Quite a few of my recent cakes have been re-creations of ones I have done previously. However, I have done a few new ones including two special anniversaries, one of which was royal iced which makes a nice change (It's been quite a few years since I have been asked to coat a cake in ropyal icing!). You can't beat the crisp bright white finish that you get with royal icing!!!

Wedding Fayres!
Well the first wedding fayre went well last week at the Monton House Hotel. It was nice and steady so I had plenty of opportunity to chat to the happy couples. I had a few new designs on display and took samples of lemon, banana and fruit cake with me. They went down well with visitors and the other exhibitors. It was nice to meet the team from Proposals bridal wear and mens hire in Swinton and everyone else who had fabulous stands.

Just preparing for tomorrows fayre at Buile Hill Park. Really looking forward to it!

Still busy busy busy here! We have now got 3 wedding fayres booked for March so are working hard to come up with new designs.
Of course it is half term here aswell so this week I have been trying to keep the boys entertained. We have done the compulsory baking - empire biscuits this week. I used to make these with my Nan when I was little aswell
This chocolate cake is a favourite from last weekend. All chocolate! Our kitchen did smell lovely! Drizzles of white chocolate in panels of milk chocolate with white chocolate hearts.

Happy New Year!!!
Happy New Year to all!
The order book is filling up for this year already and I 'm really looking forward to creating new designs and old favourites alike.
We have a busy few weeks ahead of us getting new designs ready for the wedding fayres, orders to complete and plenty of consultations to fit in for wedding cakes for this year and next.
I always know the new working year is here when it's time to do Dad's birthday cake as his Birthday is January 4th and usually my first cake of the year. This year was a special age and so a special cake was created for him revolvong around two of his great passions - guitars and chocolate! Hope you like it.

Cake a Difference!
We are very happy to let you know that we raised over £90 today in aid of BLISS!
BLISS (www.bliss.org.uk) is the special care baby charity that provides vital support and care to premature and sick babies across the UK. This week (8th - 14th Feb) is Kiss for Bliss week and this year kisses were turned into cupcakes!
I spent most of the afternoon and evening yesterday baking dozens of vanilla, chocolate and banana cupcakes, topped with whipped buttercream and sprinkles.
The cupcakes were taken to AXA Insurance, Bolton, where donations were made for each cupcake. We would like to thank all those employees who donated today to help us raise money for the charity Bliss that is close to my heart.
Thank You!

I received a nice email from Sheila thanking me for the cake, saying how lovely it was and how it tasted devine. I am so pleased Jack and Sheila were pleased with their cake and wish them both many congratulations.
