Christmas

Here are a few of my favourite creations for Christmas this year. Rich fruit cakes, gingerbread and spiced cranberry cookies to name but a few. Mmmmmmm. . .

I even had time to decorate my own Christmas cake - well actually, my two little helpers did it. Great fun!

Cake a Difference!

We are very happy to let you know that we raised over £90 today in aid of BLISS!

BLISS (www.bliss.org.uk) is the special care baby charity that provides vital support and care to premature and sick babies across the UK. This week (8th - 14th Feb) is Kiss for Bliss week and this year kisses were turned into cupcakes!

I spent most of the afternoon and evening yesterday baking dozens of vanilla, chocolate and banana cupcakes, topped with whipped buttercream and sprinkles.

The cupcakes were taken to AXA Insurance, Bolton, where donations were made for each cupcake. We would like to thank all those employees who donated today to help us raise money for the charity Bliss that is close to my heart.

New Year's Resolutions . . .

Well, I've made quite a few, one of which is to keep everything up to date - hence this posting. The time has flown by these last 6 months. With our busiest wedding season yet in 2009, the summer months flew by and before I knew it Christmas was upon us.

I did manage a good few weeks off over the festive period and then of course the snow put a stop to rather a lot of things for a week or so. Still, back into the full swing of things now and being kept extremely busy with cakes and consultations for weddings this year, and even some for 2011!

One special cake I created in January was for my precious Nan who was 80 on January 17th 10. We got all Nan's relatives and friends together for a wonderful surprise birthday party and I was really proud to make this cake for her.

So that was my first blog (of many) for 2010! There's plenty more to chat about but I need to leave something for my next few post(s)!!!
